Inside the Veio Park, in the Sorbo Valley, along the St. Francis Way between Campagnano and Formello, just a short distance from Rome we find “L’Ammonite”, the architectural design house by Paolo Portoghesi. The almost 2400sqft building, with nine bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a large kitchen, a splendid living space with large panoramic windows, is surrounded by nature in nearly 7.5 acres of wooded areas and park complete with a swimming pool. It is a contemporary architectural wonder inspired by the past. Constructed between 1972 and 2000 on a commission from Ambassador Francesco Corrias, as of November 2021, it has become the home of Daria Leuzinger and Maurizio Persia, artists and musicians who host cultural and artistic events.

ABOUT US
Daria Leuzinger
Daria Leuzinger was born in Switzerland in 1979. After receiving her degree in violin at the Musikhochschule Winterthur, life events and her activity as a professional musician brought her to Italy, a place dear to her heart from her earliest years. As a very curious person, she loves to travel, tours with the orchestra, being able to communicate in any of the five languages she speaks and discover different cultures. But after years of this stimulating reality, she came to realize that the city, the rigid heirarchy in the work place and the lack of freedom of expression, were not good for her. So off she goes, on the road again. By herself, on foot, with a backpack holding the bare necessities and lots of doubts. On the St. Francis Way she comes alive, finds herself, and feeds on exactly what she needs. Two days before arriving in Rome, she sees a fantastic house and immediately falls in love with it. She quits her job and together with her husband decides to change everything. Now she lives in this wonderful home, full of gratitude for this opporunity with countless ideas for sharing it with others. A pilgrim who has put down roots.
